WILL TECHNOLOGY REPLACE TEACHERS?

ICT plays a vital role in high quality learning and teaching. Advances in technology have opened up new possibilities for the way in which teachers educate their classes, giving potential for innovative ways to encourage students to become more engaged in their schooling. ICT increases student’s motivation to learn, engagement in learning and their independence in learning. It provides a variety of learning experiences and creates joyful learning in students. It improves their academic achievement also.

The common fear that ICT shall replace a teacher is totally unfounded. The realization now seems to be slowly dawning on the teaching community that ICT is primarily to empower them and not to replace them. ICT is, therefore, not to be feared but to be embraced so as to empower our future generations by providing them high quality ICT- enabled education.

No education system can be better than its teachers. Teachers are at the core to driving education transformation in any given institute, state or country. Effective education transformation can help increase student competitiveness, build relevant skills ant competencies, support economic development and provide social cohesion. But the demands of the new generation could only be meet by innovative teachers who successfully integrated both old and new facilitative methods to provide their students the best of both worlds.

Reality is that teachers will not be replaced by technology, but teachers who do not use technology will be replaced by those who do.

Technology cannot replace teachers fundamentally. Just as current biotechnology, it has developed rapidly but it has been improved by teachers, namely the scientists. -Biotech

Actually, I think we should not worry about that the ICT one day will replace teachers to teach students. although the ICT technology help students a lot in their study and increase the motivation of their study, it can not replace the position of teachers, who can give encouragement with their mouths and with their mood.
